Biscuit Meal · Aquaculture

Biscuit meal for fish feed

A starch source in aquafeed: energy, pellet binding and cost advantage.

Biscuit Meal

Carbohydrate and energy source in pelleted feed

Its role in this ration

In pelleted and extruded fish feed, starch both supplies energy and contributes to pellet binding and water stability. With its heat-treated starch, biscuit meal fits this role and is economical compared with cereal sources.

About inclusion rates

The share in the ration depends on the animal group, the performance target and the other ingredients; it should be set with your feed nutritionist. The information below describes the role of the product in this group; it is not a formula.

Points of attention

  • Starch (40-45%): pellet binding and water stability; gelatinises easily in extrusion.
  • Fat (10-12%) is included in the total fat and oxidation plan of the feed.
  • Protein is low; fish meal, soybean and other protein sources are planned separately.
  • The inclusion rate depends on species (trout, sea bass, sea bream, carp) and feed type and is set with the nutritionist.
  • A lot-specific analysis report is shared with the quote.
